Recovery Meeting Policy

This Recovery Meeting Policy governs participation in all virtual, hybrid, and in-person recovery meetings, support groups, educational sessions, workshops, webinars, peer support meetings, organization meetings, provider meetings, and other meeting-related activities offered through RecoveryBuddy AI (“RecoveryBuddy AI,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) (collectively, the “Meetings”).

This Policy applies to all Recovery Clients, Peer Recovery Coaches, Certified Recovery Specialists, healthcare providers, treatment organizations, sponsors, family members, moderators, administrators, volunteers, guests, and other users participating in Meetings through the Platform.

This Policy should be read together with the Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Recovery Community Standards, Messaging Policy, Privacy Policy, Medical Disclaimer, Mental Health Disclaimer, Crisis Support Disclaimer, and all other applicable RecoveryBuddy AI policies.

By participating in Meetings, you agree to comply with this Policy.

Purpose of Recovery Meetings

RecoveryBuddy AI Meetings are designed to provide:

  • Peer support.

  • Recovery education.

  • Wellness discussions.

  • Recovery planning.

  • Goal setting.

  • Accountability.

  • Community engagement.

  • Educational presentations.

  • Provider-led discussions.

  • Organization events.

  • Supportive conversations.

Meetings are intended to foster hope, encouragement, accountability, and meaningful recovery connections.

Respect for All Participants

Every participant deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Participants are expected to:

  • Listen respectfully.

  • Avoid interrupting others.

  • Encourage healthy discussion.

  • Respect differing viewpoints.

  • Demonstrate patience.

  • Practice empathy.

  • Respect cultural differences.

  • Support recovery-focused conversations.

Recovery is personal, and every participant’s lived experience deserves respect.

Meeting Conduct

Participants are expected to:

  • Join meetings using their own identity or an approved display name.

  • Conduct themselves respectfully.

  • Remain courteous throughout the meeting.

  • Avoid disruptive behavior.

  • Follow instructions provided by the meeting host or moderator.

  • Participate in good faith.

  • Respect the purpose of the meeting.

  • Comply with all applicable Platform policies.

Meeting hosts may establish additional meeting-specific rules.

Confidentiality

Recovery meetings frequently involve discussions of sensitive personal experiences.

Participants are expected to protect the confidentiality of other attendees.

Do not disclose another participant’s:

  • Recovery status.

  • Personal experiences.

  • Medical information.

  • Behavioral health information.

  • Meeting participation.

  • Contact information.

  • Family information.

  • Personal stories.

  • Images.

  • Videos.

  • Documents.

without that person’s express permission or other lawful authority.

Confidentiality promotes trust and supports a safe recovery environment.

Recording Meetings

To protect participant privacy:

  • Do not record Meetings without the prior informed consent required by applicable law and all affected participants.

  • Do not capture screenshots, screen recordings, audio recordings, or video recordings without appropriate authorization.

  • Do not distribute Meeting content without permission.

Meeting hosts are responsible for complying with applicable recording and consent laws if recording is permitted.

Appropriate Discussions

RecoveryBuddy AI encourages open, respectful, and recovery-focused discussions.

Participants should:

  • Share personal experiences respectfully.

  • Encourage others.

  • Support recovery.

  • Promote wellness.

  • Respect differing recovery pathways.

  • Avoid personal attacks.

  • Remain constructive.

Healthy disagreement is acceptable when expressed respectfully.

Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is prohibited during Meetings:

  • Harassment.

  • Bullying.

  • Threats.

  • Intimidation.

  • Hate speech.

  • Discrimination.

  • Stalking.

  • Sexual harassment.

  • Fraud.

  • Spam.

  • Unauthorized advertising.

  • Illegal activity.

  • Promotion of violence.

  • Promotion of illegal drug trafficking.

  • Distribution of malware.

  • Unauthorized fundraising.

  • Deliberate disruption of Meetings.

  • Sharing confidential information without authorization.

  • Impersonation.

  • Displaying unlawful or offensive material.

Meeting hosts and RecoveryBuddy AI moderators may remove disruptive participants.

Peer Recovery Coaches

Peer Recovery Coaches participating in Meetings are expected to:

  • Maintain professional boundaries.

  • Respect confidentiality.

  • Encourage informed decision-making.

  • Represent credentials accurately.

  • Avoid exploitation.

  • Promote healthy recovery.

  • Comply with applicable professional standards.

Peer Recovery Coaches generally act as independent users of the Platform unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.

Healthcare Providers

Healthcare providers participating in Meetings remain independently responsible for:

  • Professional conduct.

  • Patient confidentiality.

  • Compliance with applicable laws.

  • Independent clinical judgment.

  • Professional ethics.

RecoveryBuddy AI does not supervise the professional services of independent healthcare providers.

Artificial Intelligence

RecoveryBuddy AI may offer AI-powered Meeting tools, including:

  • Meeting summaries.

  • Educational assistance.

  • Recovery planning support.

  • Note organization.

  • Administrative assistance.

  • Translation features, where available.

AI-generated information:

  • May contain inaccuracies.

  • Should be independently reviewed.

  • Does not replace professional judgment.

  • Does not constitute medical advice.

  • Does not replace emergency services.

Emergencies During Meetings

RecoveryBuddy AI Meetings are not emergency services.

Meeting hosts, moderators, Peer Recovery Coaches, healthcare providers, and RecoveryBuddy AI personnel may not be immediately available to respond to emergencies.

If you or another participant experiences:

  • A medical emergency.

  • Suicidal thoughts.

  • Self-harm.

  • Drug overdose.

  • Psychiatric emergency.

  • Immediate danger.

  • Violence.

Immediately contact 911 or your local emergency services.

RecoveryBuddy AI cannot guarantee immediate intervention.

Meeting Availability

RecoveryBuddy AI strives to provide reliable Meeting services but does not guarantee:

  • Continuous availability.

  • Uninterrupted meetings.

  • Successful connections.

  • Audio quality.

  • Video quality.

  • Meeting attendance.

  • Host availability.

  • Participant availability.

Technical issues may occasionally affect Meeting functionality.

Reporting Concerns

Participants are encouraged to report:

  • Harassment.

  • Abuse.

  • Fraud.

  • Privacy violations.

  • Safety concerns.

  • Security concerns.

  • Inappropriate conduct.

  • Violations of this Policy.

RecoveryBuddy AI reviews reports in good faith and may investigate where appropriate.

Enforcement

RecoveryBuddy AI may take appropriate action for violations of this Policy, including:

  • Verbal or written warnings.

  • Removal from a Meeting.

  • Temporary Meeting restrictions.

  • Suspension of Meeting privileges.

  • Suspension of Messaging privileges.

  • Account suspension.

  • Permanent account termination.

  • Reporting unlawful conduct to appropriate authorities where required by law.

Enforcement decisions are made at Digjy LLC’s reasonable discretion and in accordance with applicable law.

Policy Updates

RecoveryBuddy AI may update this Recovery Meeting Policy from time to time to reflect:

  • Changes in applicable law.

  • Platform enhancements.

  • Recovery best practices.

  • Security improvements.

  • Operational experience.

  • Industry standards.

Updated versions will be published on the RecoveryBuddy AI website with a revised Last Updated date.
